So "work" is NULL.  No big surprise there.

Work was never initialized.  Here's how the code got there:

I've looked through the cx23885 code and can't find how a Fusion HDTV7
could be confued with a NetUp card, unless the cx23885 module is being
given the "card=17" module parameter.

Could you provide the output of "lspci -nnv" for you card?  

Could you also provide the startup messages from the module with the
"debug=7" module parameter set, if you got the panic to stop by
commenting out the call to the problem function?
