I'm interested too :) and worked with others on the tda9887 radiosupport, but on the FM1216ME/I H-3 and some other MK3 tuners.
Don't have a HVR-1300 and can give you only hints about the FMD1216MEradio status and that you should have noticed the FIXME.

I know nothing about the radio on the FMD1216MEX, but I did let you knowthat it might be eventually different according to Steve.
If you would be on the right list with your questions, you would knowthat the FMD1216ME not X doesn't work either yet on this card for radio.

This is only a speculation derived from FM1216ME and only about signalstrength for auto scanning. Else the FMD1216ME has working stereo radioalready.
You would need datasheets and preferably sample code too for the FMDtuners and that you can get only under NDA, AFAIK.

IIRC, when that rarely seen card was added, there was no radio supportfor the MK3 tuners yet. Likely some switching is wrong.
Radio is on the same amux like TV MONO, see the previous card.
I know for sure that we have radio mono on the tda9887 since card=12.
After Hartmut added the FMD1216ME with radio, Nickolay and meimmediately realized that on some point in our prior tries for stereoradio on the FM1216ME we were already right. Short time later we hadsupport for it.
All on the video4linux list ...
Cheers,Hermann
