I'm using the xc3028-dvico-au-01.fw firmware from Chris Pascoe's site.

The best solution was to remove the "card=" line and let the
auto-detection do it's thing. 

To correct my reception I just bought a much higher quality cable (10
aud about 6 eur)

I hope this helps somehow... or am I too late
