If your reception is 100% not perfect, it's difficult to watch with mplayer. When it gets an error, mplayer somehow gets confused and starts playing the video back slowly. The audio and video get out of sync and you get that error. You can sometimes fix it by telling mplayer to do a short seek, i.e. push the left arrow key.
