I have recently bought a second KNC1 TVstation DVB-C+ card for my MythTV server but tuning with the new card doesn't work at all. The two cards looks identical and identifies themselves in dmesg identical (apart for some memory adress differences). However, upon closer examination the only thing different was the text on the SAA7146 chip. The old one read: SAA7146AH CG1902 TtG06404 and the new: SAA7146AH CG1902 TtG06424 Both cards has a Cineview CI connected. Runing dvbscan gives this: tv ~ # dvbscan -a 0 /usr/share/dvb/dvb-c/se-comhem scanning /usr/share/dvb/dvb-c/se-comhem using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0' initial transponder 362000000 6875000 0 3 >>> tune to: 362000000:INVERSION_AUTO:6875000:FEC_NONE:QAM_64 WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x0011 WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x0000 WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x0010 dumping lists (0 services) Done. tv ~ # dmesg (with both cards) Linux video capture interface: v2.00 saa7146: register extension 'budget_av'. saa7146: found saa7146 @ mem ffffc2000000ec00 (revision 1, irq 11) (0x1894,0x0023). saa7146 (0): dma buffer size 192512 DVB: registering new adapter (KNC1 DVB-C Plus MK3) adapter failed MAC signature check encoded MAC from EEPROM was ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff ivtv: Start initialization, version 1.0.0 saa7146_vv: saa7146 (0): registered device video0 [v4l2] KNC1-0: MAC addr = 00:09:d6:6d:5d:12 nvidia: module license 'NVIDIA' taints kernel.
