I recently brought a TwinhanDTV Alpha USB card (VP7045) to use on my
laptop running Ubuntu 7.04 and MythTV. The card seems to be auto
detected by the linux kernal, dmesg says the following:

[ 1671.164000] usb 5-5: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and
address 4
[ 1671.296000] usb 5-5: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[ 1671.296000] dvb-usb: found a 'Twinhan USB2.0 DVB-T receiver
(TwinhanDTV Alpha/MagicBox II)' in warm state.
[ 1671.452000] dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to
the software demuxer.
[ 1671.452000] DVB: registering new adapter (Twinhan USB2.0 DVB-T
receiver (TwinhanDTV Alpha/MagicBox II)).
[ 1671.524000] dvb-usb: MAC address: 08:ca:00:00:00:ff
[ 1671.536000] DVB: registering frontend 0 (Twinhan VP7045/46 USB
DVB-T)...
[ 1671.536000] input: IR-receiver inside an USB DVB receiver
as /class/input/input7
[ 1671.536000] dvb-usb: schedule remote query interval to 400 msecs.
[ 1671.692000] dvb-usb: Twinhan USB2.0 DVB-T receiver (TwinhanDTV
Alpha/MagicBox II) successfully initialized and connected.

When I run scan with a list of channels for my area it appears to run
fine but never finds any services. The same thing happens with the
MythTV channel scan.

After further investigation, it appears that some VP7045 devices come
with a TDA10046 instead of the usual MT352 for which the driver was
written. Despite my googling, I haven't been able to find some clear
instructions to get such a device working. Can anybody point me in the
right direction please?

Thanks
