Given that both ubuntu 7.04 and Fedora Core 7 corrupt my card somehow does that imply a kernel issue?  (something probes but corrupts while it does so?)

After booting back to FC4 it is corrupted as well.  Have to remove power cord from PC for a few hours and boot to clear out eeprom and restore it.

Is there something broken with usb detection?

How can I trace this down further?
