Re: Random Oops

My card has not been (physically) disconnected from my computer for over 5 weeks, whilst this crash happened yesterday. Is it perhaps a "soft" disconnect (not sure of correct term)? If so, what can I do to prevent it from "soft" disconnecting in future? Is it issue with the card, or my computers USB ports, or USB controller chipset, or what? Any ideas gratefully received!

Kind regards, and thank you for your fast response,

Benjie Gillam

Your DVB card is disconnected and that isn´t handled gracefully, DVB doesn´t handle hotplug. Then your mythbackend bites the dust. This happens when there is a disconnct during use, the disconnect is the problem.

For someone to come with something useful, lsusb, kernelversion and hardware information probably need to be included, but I´m no expert.

I have no knowledge of DVB or kernel internals...
