I bought a new Terratec Cinergy 1200 DVB-C card for integration into
my Debian system.

lspci -vnn told me following about the card:

00:0c.0 Multimedia controller [0480]: Philips Semiconductors SAA7146
[1131:7146] (rev 01)
Subsystem: TERRATEC Electronic GmbH Unknown device [153b:1176]
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 12
       Memory at dffffa00 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=512]

Interesting is the message "Unknown device [153b:1176]". I googled around and it
seems that tey build in new chips that not supported without any patches.

So can someone point me out how to patch and setup a right kernel
module for working.

System is Debian/sid running Debian kernel 2.6.18.

Thanks

I bought the same card about 1 year ago and the card is running out of the box in Ubuntu.

lspci -v gives me:

05:07.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7146 (rev 01)
Subsystem: TERRATEC Electronic GmbH Unknown device 1156
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 74
        Memory at d100a000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=512]

Note the "Unknown device".

Mybe this http://www.kaiser-linux.li/index.php/DVB-C is interesting, too?
