how can i add support for this board in the driver.
Does this set top box have a hard drive? How do you boot linux on it?

As far as I can see from the pictures, it has an IDE connector where
a flash disk module is mounted from the factory. You should be able to
connect a regular hard disk there...

this box has one ide port. you can only boot from a HD or from a DOM. the supplied DOM has 32mb and runs WinCE. booting from CD-ROM or USB is not supported by the bios, or the bios is blockaded this. the power supply has only 60W, so i use for safeness the 3.5" HD conected to an external unit - a 2.5" HD should work without problems, i think.

i use a gentoo linux and have a chroot. so i have build a gentoo glibc based system (standard) for this box. So if i would test software or a new kernel, i must connect the HD over USB to my other PC, build the things and copy to the HD. the 733Mhz are to slow to build this.

I'd assume there would be some sort of mpeg2 decoder chip sitting
between the cx88 and the focus chip? Otherwise the mpeg2 decoding would
have to be done by the cpu.
the cpu is only a celeron with 733 mhz - so softdecoding by the cpu would not be enough.
is the cx88 not a mpeg2 decoding chip?
the focus fs 454 is only for pc graphic to tv conversion. i quote from the focus enhancements homepage:

"The FS-453/FS-454 video processors provide conversion of digital PC graphics to virtually all standard definition television (SDTV) and high definition television (HDTV) formats. These chips accept resolutions ranging from 640x480 to 1280x1024 (SXGA) and can output virtually all NTSC, PAL or HDTV formats, on any size TV. The FS-453/FS-454 video processors provide glueless compatibility with most graphics controller chips (GCCs) and will deliver multiple display modes to PC monitors, SD and HD TV screens. These ICs consume less power and generate less heat than similar-purposed chips, plus they provide aggressive power control modes for use in notebook PCs and consumer electronics appliances. The FS-454 provides the globally implemented Macrovision 7.1 DVD anti-copy protection technology in the encoder for all TV outputs, including protection for 480p, progressive component output. These features provide stunning visual quality for games and text rendering, offering the highest quality text presentation available, regardless of the language rendered."

gentoo linux is running from the hd, and i have a console on the tv.
the framebuffer (kernel modul i810fb) has at he moment not the right sight.
720x576-32 at 60Hz works, but at the right, left, upper at down side missing some border. the virtual size is not set and dont no the right pixclock value.

and here are some more pictures:

if anyone will know or need more information, i will give my best.
