My dmesg is full of "dvb-usb: bulk message failed" messages, and my card has stopped working. A restart will make the card work again, but unplugging it and replugging it does nothing. In fact, these messages still take place when the card is unplugged, once they have started. You can use the time codes to see just how fast they are spat out - 4-5 per second! I have no idea what they mean... Can I help debug somehow?

I would give you the stick id number but... I cant even run lsusb, and I cant remember it. It is not the 14aa:0225 version, but the one before that.

I am very frustrated with having to keep restart my PC every couple of days, I am not using Windoze after all! Could someone help explain these errors and/or a possible solution to me?

My kernel: 2.6.17-10-generic
which is the stock Ubuntu Edgy Eft (6.10) kernel.

Kind regards,

Benjie Gillam.

Hi Stefan,

I've exactly the same error when I plug that stick into a USB 1.1 port.

Make sur it negociate high speed USB and not full speed.

lsusb -v gives me:

Port 5: 0000.0503 highspeed power enable connect

So I think it uses highspeed :)
