Hi, I'm new on this list, I'm French and I have a problem with a Terratec Cinergy Hybrid T XS French (0ccd:004c). First, I've followed the installation instructions (found on the Em2880 V4LWiki) on Debian and everything was ok. I reboot and then : modprobe em28xx modprobe em2880-dvb The dmesg was : em28xx-video.c: setting DVB lock em2880-dvb.c: DVB Init em2880-dvb.c: VIDIOC_S_MODE xc3028-tuner.c: DIGITAL MODE! /opt/v4l-dvb/v4l/em28xx-i2c.c: em28xx_gpio_write /opt/v4l-dvb/v4l/em28xx-i2c.c: em28xx_gpio_write xc3028-tuner.c: Firmware uploaded xc3028-tuner.c: sending extra call for DVB-T /opt/v4l-dvb/v4l/em28xx-i2c.c: em28xx_gpio_write zl10353_read_register: readreg error (reg=127, ret==-19) em2880-dvb.c: failed initializing zl10353 DVB-T demodulator em2880-dvb.c: retrying with mt352 DVB-T demodulator mt352_read_register: readreg error (reg=127, ret==-19) em2880-dvb.c: no luck with mt352 demodulator, not attaching em2880-dvb em2880-dvb.c: DVB-T demodulator not reachable, did you try "modprobe em28xx device_mode=1" em28xx-video.c: releasing DVB lock em28xx #0: Found Terratec Hybrid XS Secam So, I followed the instructions I found on the V4LWiki : unplug, rmmod em2880-dvb, rmmod em28xx, modprobe em28xx device_mode=1, modprobe em2880, plug. Then, everything was ok !!! But I reboot (to see the result in the duration) and then, the error was back. The precedent instructions (unplug, rmmod, etc...) did nothing !!! I can't re-compile each time I want to use my card ;-) Second, I read that the new kernel 2.6.17 has new improvements in v4l. So, I've installed this kernel. I compiled the modules and, when I did the modprobe, I have this error : # modprobe em28xx FATAL: Error inserting em28xx (/lib/modules/2.6.17-1-686/kernel/drivers/media/video/em28xx/em28xx.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg) And dmesg : em28xx: disagrees about version of symbol video_unregister_device em28xx: Unknown symbol video_unregister_device em28xx: disagrees about version of symbol video_device_alloc em28xx: Unknown symbol video_device_alloc em28xx: disagrees about version of symbol video_register_device em28xx: Unknown symbol video_register_device em28xx: disagrees about version of symbol video_device_release em28xx: Unknown symbol video_device_release Do you have an idea for my problem ?
