TechnoTrend S-1401 Budget DVB-S (TDA10086)

Hi,

Does anybody have any experience with the TT S-1401?

We're looking at it as a replacement for the (now discontinued) TT
S-1400/Hauppauge Nova-S SE as we need a low-profile card to fit in to
our custom case.

The 1401 is very similar board to the 1400, but it has a Philips
TDA10086 instead of the S5H1420 demodulator chip.

I found this mail about the TDA10086 in the archives:

http://www.linuxtv.org/pipermail/linux-dvb/2005-July/003383.html

but there were no replies, and I don't see any support for that chip in
the v4l-dvb sources.

The S-1401 doesn't have the normal removable section on the tin, so I
can't get a look at the tuner. Well, not with out a soldering iron
anyway. Though losing one card in the name of research would probably
be acceptable ;-)

The PCI IDs are the usual 1131:7146 for the card, with 13c2:1018 for the
subsystem.

Any idea as to how viable a driver for this card might be?

Thanks in advance,
Chris
