I have got a Hauppauge WinTV Nexus-S DVB Card with a built in IR-Input
and this remote control:

I use the Kernel dvb drivers from Kernel 2.6.15.6 and not the
linuxtv-dvb drivers.
In the vdr Wiki under section "Remote control" i read that there is a
utility called av7110_loadkeys which comes with the dvb drivers, but
since i don´t use these i wanted to know if there is another way to get
the Remote Control to work.
