7 month and all ok with CableStar and kernel 2.6.14 + this old (one time) cvs version.
But now I must upgrade to kernel 2.6.15(16) and no CableStar support :(

Hi again,
can you please try current dvb-kernel (you have to cvs up it) now? The driver loads correctly now,
but I don't have access to dvb-c anymore to test it, but it should work now.
regards,
Patrick.

Support for the CableStar2 is not in dvb-kernel yet. The stv0297 in dvb-kernel is not compatible
with the one needed for the CableStar2.
I will try to put a CableStar2 specific stv2097-driver into dvb-kernel CVS today, with the hope,
that someone with more time and access to DVB-C is able to merge both drivers in the future.

Added files:

stv0297_priv.h

adding special stv0297-driver for the Technisat/B2C2 CableStar2 PCI and USB
devices (USB untested)
Please remove this from CVS. This won't get merged into the kernel this
way (two slightly different drivers for the same thing: no way), and
thus we don't want this in CVS.
If you can't merge the two drivers youself then it's best to post a patch
here or put it somewhere for download and let someone else do the work.
