Due to other parts of my system running the old 2.6.12.5 kernel isn't an option, but I noticed that the 2.6.16 changelog includes "V4L/DVB (3395): Fixed Pinnacle 300i DVB-T support". So I set out to try it on 2.6.16.1, but I couldn't get it working. By connecting the computer to a "Digital Box" (eg. a DVB-T to PAL converter) I could get a strong PAL signal in TVtime by just doing "modprobe saa7134" (didn't have to give any options). However, doing "modprobe saa7134-dvb" wasn't enough to get DVB working. I tried both on a clean boot and after successful PAL viewing, but I got neither "dvbscan -v /usr/share/dvb/dvb-t/se-Norrkoping" nor the builtin scan in Kaffeine 0.8 to work. I also tried to manually copy the settings for a channel from the "Digital Box" to Kaffeine but it still didn't work. I've attached the output of dvbscan, as well as relevant parts of dmesg and lsmod outputs, if that helps. My computer is Gentoo Linux 2006.0 with GCC 3.4.5, Xorg 6.8.2 and KDE 3.5.2 running on an Athlon XP if any of it is relevant. I'm not interested in PAL viewing on the computer, so a workaround disabling the analogue part is sufficient. I'm also no stranger to patching and re-compiling the kernel, so a patch would be great.
