The following patches form part of my conversion of budget-ci to use ir_common. They do not complete it; they provide only some tidying up and error-checking. The patches are posted as follow-ups to this posting. I would like them to be pushed for inclusion in kernel 2.6.17. BTW, where do we go from here - complete the conversion or split out budget-ir first?
