Hi, I've just bought a Freecom DVB-T USB Stick and am trying to get it to work on a 2.6.15 kernel (compiled today from kernel.org sources with no patches). When I plug into a usb port, the device is recognised and the firmware is loaded. But the initialisation fails with the message: dvb-usb: recv bulk message failed: -110 I know this is a usb error and thought about raising the problem with the usb developers, but decided to start with dvb first. Nevertheless, I've turned on verbose usb debugging, and loaded the dvb modules with full debugging. An extract from /var/log/kernel which shows the messages from plugging the device up to the error message follows: Jan 3 19:13:19 upstairs kernel: hub 3-0:1.0: state 5 ports 5 chg 0000 evt 0004 Jan 3 19:13:19 upstairs kernel: ehci_hcd 0000:00:09.2: GetStatus port 2 status 001803 POWER sig=j CSC CONNECT Jan 3 19:13:19 upstairs kernel: hub 3-0:1.0: port 2, status 0501, change 0001, 480 Mb/s Jan 3 19:13:19 upstairs kernel: hub 3-0:1.0: debounce: port 2: total 100ms stable 100ms status 0x501 Jan 3 19:13:19 upstairs kernel: ehci_hcd 0000:00:09.2: port 2 high speed Jan 3 19:13:19 upstairs kernel: ehci_hcd 0000:00:09.2: GetStatus port 2 status 001005 POWER sig=se0 PE CONNECT Jan 3 19:13:19 upstairs kernel: usb 3-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2 Jan 3 19:13:19 upstairs kernel: ehci_hcd 0000:00:09.2: port 2 high speed Jan 3 19:13:19 upstairs kernel: ehci_hcd 0000:00:09.2: GetStatus port 2 status 001005 POWER sig=se0 PE CONNECT Jan 3 19:13:19 upstairs kernel: usb 3-2: new device strings: Mfr=0, Product=0, SerialNumber=0 Jan 3 19:13:19 upstairs kernel: usb 3-2: hotplug Jan 3 19:13:19 upstairs kernel: usb 3-2: adding 3-2:1.0 (config #1, interface 0) Jan 3 19:13:19 upstairs kernel: usb 3-2:1.0: hotplug Jan 3 19:13:19 upstairs kernel: drivers/usb/core/inode.c: creating file '002' Jan 3 19:13:20 upstairs kernel: dvb_usb_dtt200u 3-2:1.0: usb_probe_interface Jan 3 19:13:20 upstairs kernel: dvb_usb_dtt200u 3-2:1.0: usb_probe_interface - got id Jan 3 19:13:20 upstairs kernel: dvb-usb: found a 'WideView WT-220U PenType Receiver (Typhoon/Freecom)' in cold state, will try to load a firmware Jan 3 19:13:20 upstairs kernel: dvb-usb: downloading firmware from file 'dvb-usb-wt220u-01.fw' to the 'Cypress FX2' Jan 3 19:13:20 upstairs kernel: dvb-usb: WideView WT-220U PenType Receiver (Typhoon/Freecom) successfully initialized and connected.
