Thanks.... I couldnt have done it without your dvb-usb work. ;-)

For Instance, the Medion MD95700, that you RE'd - The first box
supported by cxusb.
Also, the Hauppauge pvrusb2 also uses an FX2, with an almost identical
firmware command set, except special commands to handle the cx23416
encoder are not present in the Medion and DViCO devices.

Both the Medion box and the pvrusb2 return 0x08 as a success message in
response to firmware commands, in particular, 0x08 - i2c write.
However, the Bluebird box always returns 0x01. Once again, the driver
doesnt care about the return codes, so we have no problem here.

You may have misunderstood. AFAIK, there are four different bluebird
boxes, each using different tuner / demod combinations. LG-H064F,
containing lgdt3303+tua6034+tda9887, for use with ATSC / NTSC . Some
others:

LG-Z201 + Zarlink MT352 (DVB-T)
Thomson7579 + Zarlink MT352 (DVB-T)
Dnos104Z + Zarlink MT352 (dual DVB-T)

I haven't tried it yet, but it should be as simple as just changing the
Alt setting to 7, while using the DVB-T firmware on the ATSC box. I
will give that a try, and I have no doubt that it will work.

What I would like to do is support both firmwares for the ATSC box. I
think it would be nice, if the driver would allow for using the DVB-T
firmware if the ATSC firmware isnt present (or vice versa) However, this
has some implications....

I'll try the DVB-T firmware first, It would be nice, if anybody has the
DVB-T version of this box, to let me know and test out some patches.

...or maybe it would be better to ONLY support the DVB-T firmware, since
it should work on all the bluebird boxes, using different alt settings.
I'll have to test that first...

I'm not sure either which is better.... I guess I'll decide when I
commit it to cvs, if you dont pick one first. ;-)

Cheers,

Mike
