[linux-dvb] Unknown Nova-S PCI???

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi folks!

I own a Hauppauge Nova-S PCI which works flawlessly under 'EvilOS xp' but
modprobe budget just gives:
saa7146: register extension 'budget dvb'.

nothing else.

all other modprobe commands (like saa7134 etc) do not give any output at
all.
within the tinbox of the card is a chip called TDA8060TS and another one
called STV0299B. Is that TDA chip an alternative to the TDA10045 and
TDA10046 chips which just isn't recognized by the driver?
/lib/firmware (that's where hotplug looks for firmware) contains the
identical files dvb-fe-tda10045.fw and dvb-fe-tda10046.fw which I took from
the bundled driver-cd. but dmesg and /var/log/syslog didn't show any
messages that no firmware was found...

Am I doing anything wrong or is my card just not supported?

I have already googled for some information and have found an article on
this mailing list at
http://www.linuxtv.org/mailinglists/linux-dvb/2004/12-2004/msg00001.html.
Therefore I'm including the information which was asked for in that article.

lspci -v -n
00:0b.0 Class 0480: 1131:7146 (rev 01)
        Subsystem: 13c2:100f
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 5
        Memory at ef001000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=512]

Written on the sticker of the tin-box:
SU1278/SH
3112297 12871
238 HJ11 GC00046
Inside the tin-box are the chips mentioned above.

I'd greatly appreciate any information which could help me getting this card
to work :-)

Thanks in advance

Martin
