You should see the following amongst the output: ... open("/dev/input/event1", O_RDONLY) = 7 ioctl(7, EVIOCGRAB, 0x1) = 0 ... If the ioctl() call is missing then it is probably the cause of the duplicates. This is probably because you are missing EVIOCGRAB from /usr/include/linux/input.h. It should contain the following line: #define EVIOCGRAB _IOW('E', 0x90, int) /* Grab/Release device */ Jon
