This is just a guess, but from the looks below, it looks like mplayer doesnt know where (or how) to find your device. It probably needs a parameter or something. Try man mplayer... ...or read on below to see how I do my own testing. > I have download and build the drivers, kernel, etc ... > I can run tvtime and see the analog stuff.... > run atscscan and have a ~/.mplayer/channels.conf > > $ /usr/bin/mplayer dvb://NBC5 -v > MPlayer 1.0pre6-3.4.2 (C) 2000-2004 MPlayer Team > CPU: Advanced Micro Devices Athlon MP/XP/XP-M Barton (Family: 6, > Stepping: 0) > Detected cache-line size is 64 bytes > CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 1 3DNow2: 1 SSE: 1 SSE2: 0 > > > CommandLine: 'dvb://NBC5' '-v' > init_freetype > get_path('font/font.desc') -> '/home/forsyth/.mplayer/font/font.desc' > font: can't open file: /home/forsyth/.mplayer/font/font.desc > Font /usr/share/mplayer/font/font.desc loaded successfully! Instead, this is what I do: azap WNET_HD -r (-r option is *very* important) mplayer /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 -tskeepbroken -cache 8192 That works for me, although the options that I am passing to mplayer are completely optional. You must keep azap running in order for mplayer to receive the stream. MythTV does a nice job of managing all this for you... I highly recommend it. -- Michael Krufky
