[linux-dvb] RE: linux-dvb Digest, Vol 8, Issue 33

Howdy,

Followed your instructions but found I couldn't get it to load the
modules with my 2.6.11 kernel, moved to 2.6.12 and that worked fine.

Had to specify the card as card=70 which isn't a problem, loaded MythTV
and it recognised the card, was able to scan and pick up the channels
fine.

Sound and Picture are good quality also, I can't fault it :)

Is there anything specific you wanted to tested at all? I'd be keen to
get the remote working, what would be involved in that?

Cheers,

Nick

To: linux-dvb@xxxxxxxxxxx
Message-ID: <20cd5ba94d.tom@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

The FE_GET_FRONTEND ioctl seems to return the wrong frequency
for TwinHan DST cards - looking at the code in dst_get_tuna shows
that it only looks at two bytes while fills in three when setting
the frequency for DVB-T and DVB-C cards.

In addition it doesn't multiply the extracted value by 1000 to
match the division by 1000 that dst_set_freq does when setting
the frequency.

All this seems to match up with the resut being off by a factor
of 256000 on my DVB-T card.

The attached patch corrects both issues and seems to resolve the
problem on my system.

Beats me. You asked me to create a bugzilla acount, and so I did.
Just tell me what I need to do if that is insufficient.
Meanwhile I added myself to the Cc: for this bug.

The flexcop-pci driver is (was?) maintained by Patrick, maybe
he can comment on this.

Hi, Folks

I just commited updates to the video4linux CVS that add support for:
  - Philips EUROPA reference design
  - Compro VideoMate DVB-T300
  - Compro VideoMate DVB-T200
Please note that i don't have the Compro Cards, i need your help for
testing. Especially the support for the DVB-T200 is very preliminary.
For the same reason, i can't implement the remote control - i have no
means to test.
For the Compro 300 and for the EUROPA board, you need an update of the
tda1004x driver, otherwise analog tv will not work.
To get it up, please do the following:
- get CVS snapshots of video4linux and dvb-kernel from www.linuxtv.org
- cd to video4linux and run scripts/merge-trees.sh
- check the Make.config file
- run make, make install
- do "modprobe saa7134 oss=1"
- do "modprobe saa7134-dvb"
You will need at least kernel 2.6.11. For the DVB-T200, you will also
need firmware. Please check the Documentation/dvb directory in the
kernel source how to obtain and install it.

Have fun
    Hartmut

Hi list
I got a generic DVB-T card off an auction and am having trouble
identifying it. (Or getting it to work in linux for that matter...)

It has got a CX22702-15, CX23881-19 and a Thomson tuner (picture here:

The cx88-dvb module from the 2.6.13 kernel nearly gets there, but then
fails with error -12. Any suggestions on which card this is or how to
get it to work appreciated!

-12 is ENOMEM

Does this make sense for you?

That's a Leadtek LR6650, of course. Says so right on the PCB. Aka the
Conexant "Stratford" reference design, which it says on the sticker.

The LR6650 should be well supported.

I had a similiar problem some time ago with Skystar 2.6B and szap.
I added a SIGINT wrapper that closes all open filedescriptors, and since
then, it's mostly working as expected.
The wrapper is for a userland program.
Of course, the driver should handle this fine, but it didn't.
I still think there is some problem somewhere in the driver's code
somewhere; see the 'lost lock' problem and others, that seem to be
fixed sometimes, but not _always_.

Thanks for the advice... I've already fixed the problem by ignoring FBUS

& FDSR errors & adding resync... (Thank's to Manu's suggestion) Now it
works very well - even better than it's cx88-based 'Gold' counterpart.

Only bug left is the problem where no TS data comes through after using
the analog tuner, but I think I know how to fix that in bttv-cards.c ...

Mac has given some feedback about this issue as well, and I don't think
it will be too difficult to fix. It looks like some GPIO gets written
where it shouldn't, and I think all I should need to do is mask it.
Today's not the day though... I have that card all set up in a machine
that will be recording 2 hour's worth of PRISON BREAK on Fox, starting
any minute...

Maybe later on tonight, if I have the energy...
