I'm not certain whether that was a typo!  In a thread on AVS 
(http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=574229), Cliff Watson 
noted that it (this patch submitted Feb 15th) would in effect cause the 
demodulator to be overdriven and may lead to reception instability 
problems.  I'm not certain of the exact mechanics, but what Cliff said 
certainly sounds plausible.  If the change has made its way into the 
driver, it probably should be looked at to determine whether there are 
indeed any negative repercussions.
