[linux-dvb] Getting Kernel 2.6.13-rc3 and CVS DVB drivers to work with SuSE 9.3

Hi,

I need to get a system running with a Hauppauge Nova-T New Revision and
maybe also with a Hauppauge Nova-T USB. I tried to get it to work with
SuSE 9.3 (Kernel 2.6.11.4) with several CVS versions and the Kernel
2.6.12 patch, but as I did not get it to work (sometimes "-1 Unknown
symbol in module" messages), I compiled a new Kernel 2.6.13-rc3 and
downloaded the CVS from yesterday. Loading the drivers with "./insmod.sh
load" looks good:

Jul 28 17:56:45 linux kernel: Linux video capture interface: v1.00
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: saa7146: register extension 'dvb'.
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: saa7146: register extension 'budget dvb'.
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: saa7146: register extension 'budget_ci dvb'.
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: saa7146: register extension 'budget_av'.
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: usbcore: registered new driver ttusb
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: usbcore: registered new driver ttusb-dec
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: b2c2-flexcop: B2C2 FlexcopII/II(b)/III
digital TV receiver chip loaded successfully
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: usbcore: registered new driver
b2c2_flexcop_usb
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: usbcore: registered new driver cinergyT2
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: usbcore: registered new driver dvb_usb_vp7045
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: usbcore: registered new driver dvb_usb_dtt200u
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: usbcore: registered new driver

Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: usbcore: registered new driver
dvb_usb_dibusb_mc
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: usbcore: registered new driver dvb_usb_a800
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: usbcore: registered new driver
dvb_usb_nova_t_usb2
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: usbcore: registered new driver dvb_usb_umt_010
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: dvb_usb_digitv: Unknown symbol nxt6000_attach
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux kernel: usbcore: registered new driver dvb_usb_cxusb

Unfortunately, I get this:
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux vdr[11427]: probing /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0
Jul 28 17:56:46 linux vdr[11427]: no DVB device found

Accordings to a post from February this year concerning "DVB-S on
Debian" I found the following hint:
rm /dev/dvb/adapter? -rf
cd /dev && MAKEDEV dvb

Unfortunately, MAKEDEV gives me the following output:
/sbin/MAKEDEV: line 170: major_/dev/vc/0=4: No such file or directory
/sbin/MAKEDEV: line 170: major_/dev/tty=5: No such file or directory
/sbin/MAKEDEV: line 170: major_/dev/console=5: No such file or directory
/sbin/MAKEDEV: line 170: major_/dev/ptmx=5: No such file or directory
/sbin/MAKEDEV: line 170: major_device-mapper=253: command not found
/sbin/MAKEDEV: don't know how to make device "dvb"

Could anybody give me a hint how to get the drivers finally to work (and
recreate the adapter? devices)?

And offtopic: After installing this drivers, I always need to go to the
YaST network settings to get the LAN card working correctly again. Could
anybody tell me via PM what?s running wrong here?

Thanks a lot in advance
