found this DVB Network API The DVB net device enables feeding of MPE (multi protocol encapsulation) packets received via DVB into the Linux network protocol stack, e.g. for internet via satellite applications. It can be accessed through /dev/dvb/adapter0/net0. Data types and and ioctl definitions can be accessed by including linux/dvb/net.h in your application. on http://www.linuxtv.org/docs/dvbapi/DVB_Network_API.html#SECTION00810000000000000000 What does this mean? Is this just what it says, i.e. some ISPs can provision internet connection via satelleite? If so, how does the transmit work? So /dev/dvb/adapter0/net0 could never be used by a DVB-T card? Could you use this connection on a DVB-C card? Bypassing the Cable Modem? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Simon Baxter" <linuxtv@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <linux-dvb@xxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, June 21, 2005 11:49 AM Subject: [linux-dvb] DVB network frontend /dev/dvb/adapter0/net0 ?? > Hi > > What is '/dev/dvb/adapter0/net0' used for? > > Is there a simple way to set up transcoding/streaming from it? > > _______________________________________________ > > linux-dvb@xxxxxxxxxxx > http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/linux-dvb > > > -- > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. > Version: 7.0.323 / Virus Database: 267.7.8/22 - Release Date: 17/06/2005 > >
