[linux-dvb] Re: syslog: av7110_fw_request: timeout waiting for HANDSHAKE_REG - What does this mean?

Hi all,

it's merely a shot in the dark, but I want to add this because I can't
see the error messages in my logs for the whole day.

Today in the morning I remembered turning on "PCI access mode = Direct"
when I last upgraded my kernel. So I gave it a shot and recompiled the
kernel with the default setting "PCI access mode = Any". I think "Any"
means the kernel tried the BIOS first.
So my question to all of you seeing the same timeout message; have you
compiled your kernel with any other setting than "PCI access mode = Any"?

Btw. this is a Shuttle AN35N NForce2 Board with a 1700+.

Cheers

S.
