I already thought, the card is not supported...

I inserted some further "printk"'s in the tda10046_fwupload() and
tda10046_init() functions, but there are obviously no such
messages in the boot.msg file...

Check. I did this. :-) But my box still does not even try to
upload the firmware to the card...

Somehow SuSE Linux 8.1's module system does not work together with
the 2.6.11 kernel (it says: "lsmod: QM_MODULES: Function not
implemented").
Do you think, I should try to get this module stuff up and
running?
