Fixed. I just removed the user from some uneeded groups which I had previously added them to. Now I'm back up and running. You never stop learning with linux, so it seems. Oh, and I'm going to be really boring by repeating the old mantra that 'you should never run as root!' But you really shouldn't. The whole point of Linux is increased security, even if you do have to type your password 100 times over every day. If you didn't care about security, you might as well be running Windows. Running as root in Linux simply makes no sense. But thanks for the input all the same! :) Best regards, GJ Hi again, >>>> I think I may have screwed permissions up somehow on my default user >> >> account. try to change permissions on devices /dev/dvb/adapterX/... instead of changing userrights. Probably this helps... I?m always root on my machines... I know it?s shit, but born from the past:-) Greets, Manuel ----- Original Message ----- From: "raid517" <raid517@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <linux-dvb@xxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, April 26, 2005 9:50 PM Subject: [linux-dvb] Which Modules.
