Hi all, I have just touched DVB-S since one week ago. I have a Hauppauge WinTV Nexus-S rev2.2 card, while having Redhat Enterprise 3.95 installed on a DELL Precision 670 workstation. Now I use Linux kernel 2.6.11.6 with DVB modules selected. I modified the udev configuration so that /dev/dvb/adapter0/* are all generated correctly, while I downloaded and placed the firmware into /lib/firmware as dvb-ttpci-01.fw. Then I created a initial-tuning-data file to scan channels with dvbscan based on Asiasat3S-105.5E transmitter. Many channels are found, so I use szap to select one channel I would like to watch. However both mp4live and xawtv, based on v4l2 API, do not work. Nothing can be seen except of blank screen. And then I use another two methods listed below, but all of them work. $ cat /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 > dvb-test.ts $ mplayer /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 So can anybody help me? Below is the log relevant.
