I agree that the "IP frontend" driver in the kernel seems not to be so a good idea if you just want to play DVB streams received over the network, but 'm looking for the standardization that the linuxdvb api gives. A lot of tools works smoothly with devices interfaced via linuxdvb, so i want to reach the same high level of interoperability. Anyway any further comment /suggestion is really welcome.
