Ah, you did that, I didn't look at the compressed file as you said it had a dkms Makefile, so I assumed it wasn't for the kernel tree. But, have you tried the in-kernel driver for this device? It's in drivers/net/wireless/rtlwifi/rtl8192cu/ ? I really don't want to merge a driver for a device we already support.
