Like I said, minor nitpick.

Regarding the documentation usage.

Since both variables are pointers to named structs they are basically
already "documented".

I agree that the variable names should be included for parameters that
would have a non-obvious usage. Things like void *, int, unsigned int, etc.
For that type of  parameter the 'type' does not give enough information
to document the use.

Just my 2 cents...
