[PATCH 0/4] staging: xgifb: video mode/memory handling fixes

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

Some small fixes/improvements for xgifb video mode/memory handling. They
address the following problems I see with my test boards:

	- If the driver is probed on "BIOS-less" system, the video
memory is limited to 1M. After that when you e.g. play videos
with mplayer, the system may hang as the driver allows to select
	illegal mode.

	- Unloading and reloading the driver forces video memory size
	always to 8M.

Tested with Z9/XG21 and Z11/XG27.

Aaro Koskinen (4):
staging: xgifb: validate the mode against video memory size
staging: xgifb: prevent video RAM size exceeding PCI window size
staging: xgifb: setup initial video RAM size for systems without BIOS
staging: xgifb: delete bogus video RAM configuration
