Sorry for not elaborate in the last e-mail. The Cypress TrueTouch(tm) touchscreen chip is shipped with the B & N Nook Color e-reader. A group of developers wanted to install Meego on this device but first we need correct support for all the Nook components in the Linux kernel. Since the B & N Android kernel is available (2.6.32), we can remove all the Android specific code (wakelocks, etc) or convert to Linux interfaces (i.e: PM) and forward port to linux-next. But I saw a that also Kevin McNeely from cypress had been working in a driver for the same device for upstream inclusion. I didn't see any post since January so I took the patches, move to staging and post it to the list. >> > Why isn't it being merged to the "real" part of the kernel? I sent to staging because I thought that since staging can take code even when is not totally in an upstream-able form, this could be more easily accepted this way. But after I posted this patchset Kevin told me that they are still working in the driver adding support for multi-touch protocol B, because his patchset only supports A right now. So, in conclusion forget about this patchset since Kevin is still working on it and he will post to te "real" part of the kernel (linux touchscreen/input). So again, sorry for the confusion and for not explaining myself better.
