Not if there is any hope of getting a better solution. In place.  As the merge window has
 just opened (and the IIO one closed a while back) there is no hurry. I appreciate this stuff
 can be annoying but better to get it right than add some hard to find bugs such as the
 address switch would introduce if there are multiple smbus alert devices present.
If we get a simple agreed solution I will pitch to apply it in the stable trees for existing
 drivers that do the address switching.
