My original problem is now solved: the output from scripts/kernel-doc > /dev/null mm/*.c looks like .......... Warning(mm/slub.c): no structured comments found Warning(mm/sparse.c): no structured comments found Warning(mm/sparse-vmemmap.c): no structured comments found Warning(mm/util.c): no structured comments found Error(mm/vmscan.c:2776): cannot understand prototype: 'SCAN_UNEVICTABLE_BATCH_SIZE 16UL ' so line numbers are now correct. I also have generated docs with make htmldocs, it works. I can't install all those dependencies needed for pdfdocs and psdocs but I guess they work too, because after all that's the same thing. Oh, forgot to mention, patches are against 2.6.33-rc3, of course if you will accept them.
