James, you are correct.. the hack of rebuilding the old nfs-utils rpm doesn't actually work. although there is no complaint when -o fsc is used, upon inspection of /proc/fs/nfsfs/volumes fsc didn't take.. NV SERVER PORT DEV FSID FSC v3 0a0a0866 0 0:21 fc00:0 no rebuilding nfs-utils from sourceforge was a snap, as long as I configure with gss off: ./configure --disable-gss then I can mount using the mount.nfs binary that's created there, and /proc/fs/nfsfs/volumes is happy. ...and I also see /var/fscache/cache (or my alternate) being populated with a slew of files. Unfortunately I'm being preempted, so hopefully I will have more time to re-look at the benchmarking stuff next week, possibly switching to suse 11.1. Mitch.
