You could just pull the patches you want from Andrew Morton's directory. If
you look in:

ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/akpm/patches/2.6/2.6.9-rc3/2.6.9-rc3-mm3/

There's a tarball of the individual patches and there's a directory from which
you could download the individual patches.
