Uh. Actually, now that you make me check my journal logs (unfortunately the old
computer is no longer with me).. It was using uhci_hcd indeed.

Not sure if due to some advanced switcheroo logic, or just out of luckily
plugging it in inside the right port. 

That could also explain why the damn adapter is still glitchy even when I plug
it in my other A50M netbook with all USB 2.0 ports.
