https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86481 Bug ID: 86481 Summary: bluetooth sound often starts stuttering, kernel 3.16, bluez 5.18, Cambridge Silicon Radio Bluetooth, ID 0a12:0001 Product: Drivers Version: 2.5 Kernel Version: 3.16.4-200 Hardware: All OS: Linux Tree: Mainline Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P1 Component: Bluetooth Assignee: linux-bluetooth@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Reporter: emailjonathananderson-fedora@xxxxxxxxx Regression: No When using sound over bluetooth with a paired external USB dongle to a bluetooth DAC, the sound can be flawless for days, then just start stuttering (choppy). When it stutters, I find this in jounalctl: pulseaudio[1996]: Skipping 96078 us (= 16948 bytes) in audio stream Numbers vary but the message repeats. Once started, I have only found one to make the sound work again and that is to both: service bluetooth restart AND reset the DAC. I have tried moving around the USB dongle to different ports (both USB2 & 3) as I am using a USB mouse and some forums have suggested that the frequent mouse communication can collide with the audio but not noticed any changes. Other symptoms: Sometimes, the DAC does not show up in the device list until the restart Sometimes, connections and immediate disconnections repeats System: I also have an internal combined wifi & bluetooth but don't use this as the external have aptX (high fidelity audio).
