Hi Daniel, this is great progress!

And thanks for the patches. I ran blktests with them, and got same result as
yours. Nice :)

I made nit spelling comments in some of the commit messages. From code point of
view, the patches look good to me. Will wait some more days for more reviews and
discussions.
