The fix worked perfectly, thanks. I am now able to: 1) create cache device on LVM & register it 2) create backing device on rbd & register it 3) use backing device without attaching the cache perfectly fine (format as ext4 + mount it and write some files) 4) attach the cache device to the backing device Unfortunately when trying to mount the backing device after attaching the cache I end up with a kernel BUG, the syslog output is below.
