Hi Harry, Hi Ralf,
Thank you for the fast answers. Harry, in fact you did not quite answer question 1 : do I have to use hdsploader ? Put it another way, would the card be recognized if the firmware is not ok? This firmware question is not clear for me : I fear to corrupt the card's windows firmware if I run hdsploader. Maybe that's completely wrong... I agree that using amixer seems to be a horrible way to work, but I could not manage to get anything out of hdspmixer... There is no way to change the routes it loads by default ! clicking on the playback labels doesn't allow to check or uncheck existing boxes. This is why I wonder if there isn't anything wrong with my setup, namely : would the use of hdsploader change hdspmixer's behaviour ? Thank you François Le 11/12/2014 17:03, Harry van Haaren a écrit :

I bought the HDSPe AIO in May 2011, after it was recommended on this list or LAD. Until today 3 1/2 years later I never could get it working correctly using hdspmixer on Linux. To test the sound card I installed FreeBSD first and then Windows XP. The sound card isn't broken and I know how to handle totalmix under Windows. However, I'm only using Linux and so assumed you should find out how to get all 8 ADAT IOs accessible by jackd, please let me know. On my machine only ADAT channel 1 and 2 are available by jackd. Regards, Ralf S: Assumed you want to use a frequency > 48 KHz, then you first need to select it using alsamixer, before you can start jackd. |
