Kernel's >= 3.16 provide this kernel module, you likely need to load
it, before you can use it.

[rocketmouse@archlinux ~]$ lsmod | grep snd_bebob
[rocketmouse@archlinux ~]$ sudo modprobe snd_bebob
[rocketmouse@archlinux ~]$ lsmod | grep snd_bebob
snd_bebob 37084 0
snd_firewire_lib 22794 1 snd_bebob
snd_hwdep 17244 2 snd_bebob,snd_hdspm
snd_rawmidi 26806 4
snd_firewire_lib,snd_bebob,snd_hdspm,snd_mpu401_uart
snd_pcm 88487 5
snd_firewire_lib,snd_ice1712,snd_ac97_codec,snd_bebob,snd_hdspm
snd 73436 13
snd_ice1712,snd_ac97_codec,snd_bebob,snd_hdspm,snd_hwdep,snd_timer,snd_i2c,snd_pcm,snd_rawmidi,snd_ak4xxx_adda,snd_mpu401_uart,snd_seq_device,snd_cs8427
firewire_core 56700 3 snd_firewire_lib,snd_bebob,firewire_ohci

to be done and 3. don't send multipart, HTML formatted mails to mailing
lists at least read
http://community.ubuntu.com/contribute/support/mailinglists/ , there
are other writings about how to use a mailing list, but this one is
short and easy to understand.
