That is swing? And what exactly does the timing option? And btw. when
using Hydrogen as a MIDI player, the timing unlikely is forwarded, but
drums always should be a little bit forwarded and never be even a
little bit behind.

Anyway, to notice timing effects I recommend to use a natural sounding
drum set. It won't sound natural without using the humanize options, it
does sound natural when using those options, unfortunately it then
doesn't sound like a good drummer. It sounds to much out of time for my
taste.
