Something similar happened to me recently, the combination that works fine for me is Google Chrome, JACK, JACK-alsa bridge.
I'm on Debian 7 with KXStudio repos.

I don't know how your system is set up, but on mine I can have browser audio or have JACK and my production apps work.  I start JACK and PulseAudio quits doing whatever it does for my web browsers.  I quit JACK and I have browser audio again.
