There are more reasons to avoid top posting, than the once Robin pointed out. I at least pointed out one reason off-list. People in the usenet and on mailing list tend to ignore you, if you offend the common rules, so a request for help likely is ignored. I have issues with e.g. not replying to myself, so I don't damn people who make other mistakes like top posting.
