Let's hope they work... 

I once did a consultancy for a firm that builds simulators of
nuclear power plants - used for training the operators. They
simulate everything, down to ageing of fuses and corrosion on
connector contacts. IIRC, one of the programs they used simulated
8 Megaitems in real time. Just touching that kind of SW is scary...
