Hello Fons!
I didn't find the bug, but since I had to reboot for other purposes, I
recheck3ed and it works again. Perhaps something wrong with the firmware or
ALSA lost it or whatever. No blame to anyone specific, but certainly blame
away from zita, since I did try something before and that too didn't function
as planned.
Anyway, all is well, which is always a good ending for a story.
